After two successive league victories, the Hope and Anchor went into this game high on confidence and hopeful of an upset. The team played well but could not match the ability of the Social Club.
Even so the Hope and Anchor put up a brave fight and they made it very difficult for the Social Club to find their potting rhythm.
Next Wednesday (December 8) the Hope and Anchor will get their chance for revenge when they face the same opponents at home.
Despite the defeat the side remains in fifth place with 58 points from nine games. The Highwaymen top the table with 83 points, in second place is the Regal Club with 81 points, and in third place is the Social Club with 73 points.
