Residents quizzed on parish future

3rd November 2004

South Huish Parish Council circulated a questionnaire to every home last month and is currently analysing the responses.

The questionnaire covered a range of issues including housing, village services, jobs, education, social activities and health and the council plan to use the findings in parish's future development.

To reduce costs the questionnaire is a joint venture with neighbouring Malborough Parish Council but residents filling in questionnaires will be asked to select their own parish so the answers can be analysed appropriately.

Parish council chairman Cllr John Carter said: "The feedback will tell us what the parishioners are thinking and what concerns them. This is a way of showing that the parish council is interested in knowing what parishioners want.

"We have kept the questionnaire as simple as possible but they cover a range of issues. It will give us an idea about the future and tell us what needs to be done."
