The award-winning Mouthwell Sands

Mouthwell Sands provides a quiet location

Mouthwell Sands provides a quiet location

3rd January 2008

Situated in Outer Hope, the award-winning Mouthwell Sands is a small, sandy beach surrounded by outcrops of rock.

Rugged in appearance, the beach is nicely sheltered and provides a quieter location compared to the likes of Blackpool Sands and Bantham beach.

Mouthwell Sands is among 375 quality beaches to win the ENCAMS Seaside Awards 2004.

This award is only given to beaches that are clean, safe well-managed and have water quality that meets European legislation.

Between Easter and September, dogs are not permitted on Mouthwell Sands. However, there are no restrictions on the nearby coastal paths.

There are three delightful restaurants close by as well as a friendly public house and a well stocked post office.

Ample car parking is within a short walk (40 yards) from Mouthwell Sands. Dolphins and seals can often be seen from the beach.
